Prioritization and Eligibility

If eligible applicants exceed available funding, participation will be determined through a lottery system.

Eligibility and Participation

To be eligible, a child must:

• Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawfully admitted

• Be eligible to attend a Texas public or charter school, or eligible for pre-K or kindergarten

• Reside in Texas

Once accepted, a child remains eligible until they:

• Graduate from high school

• Enroll in a Texas public or charter school

• Move out of Texas

• Become ineligible for Texas public education

• Not all eligible children are guaranteed funding.
